by @ 11:36 am. Filed under Micfo Web Hosting

While designing a web page, the navigation part is vital for your website to take into consideration, it should be effective and work like road map for your visitors. To meet the  expectation of the viewers, best to make it easy to use their way around. Here are few point you should consider while designing your website.

* Make sure the pages should load less than 5 second on a 56K modem and as far as avoid using flash which will delay the time of loading.

* Make your site less fancy, Use universal & widespread name for your menu option like About Us, Home, Contact Us, Products, Site Map and  avoid using trendy words.

* Place your navigation in specific categories, and position simple text navigation at the bottom of long pages and also add link to the depth of information you have in your website.

* Link your logo to your homepage and point a link to your homepage on all internal pages.

* Display a “breadcrumb trail” showing the path from the homepage to the page where you are, especially when you’ve large information database.

* If your site has many pages set your search box at the upper right corner of your home page and avoid placing search button for entire web.

* If your website has flash provide also HTML version for your users.

* Consider to create a custom error page displaying simple site map with the links to the main section of your site. This is the way you can let the visitors reach to right page those who have misspelled your URL.s while typing.

Please feel free to add more point that can make navigation part of a website more effective.

3.) passwd shoutcast
Login as the new shoutcast user, or you can su to the user.

You can set some important configureation options. Change these settings in the file:
MaxUser
Password
PortBase
uncomment AdminPassword and set an admin password.
